In 2008 the Government of Rwanda committed to establishing the Workforce Development Authority (WDA) which is an institutional framework to provide a strategic response to the skills development challenges facing the country across all sectors of the economy.

In February 2011 the WDA, through the process of International Competitive Tendering, awarded a contract to EduTeq to provide Equipment, Installation and Basic Training for vocational training services in the discipline of Automotive Engineering.

This project involves the rehabilitation and re-equipping of three existing Automotive Workshops in vocational training centres at Gacuriro ETO in Kigali, Kibungo ETO East and Kibuye ETO West.

The tools and equipment supplied covered all aspects of Automotive Engineering including auto electrics and electronics, exhaust gas emissions testing, wheel alignment and tyre repair, brake, steering and suspension testing, diesel engine auxiliaries, body work and spray painting and many other aspects of modern vehicle service, maintenance and repair.

Also supplied were state of the art computer based engine management system diagnostics equipment and software, didactic training modules and support materials based around International Curricula, personal protective equipment, classroom furniture and computers.

  • Commissioning and Break-in Testing
  • Preventative Maintenance Training

In addition, EduTeq’s experienced installation personnel provided consultation and support to the local contractors responsible for the civil and electrical remedial work required to bring the VTCs up to European standards.
